The overview

What this becomes.

The goal

Get Your Kicks is the Route 66 trip planner inside Americana Century. The aim is simple and hard: turn the entire roadside — diners, motor courts, roadside giants, neon, natural wonders — into a real, routable, day-by-day drive you can actually take. Not a paper map. Not a list. A living plan.

It runs the Scenario lens on the Habitus engine: search the corridor, sequence the stops sensibly, and route them for real — every place a verified record, not a hardcoded pin.

Where it is today

This page is the scaffold. The planner below shows the shape of the real thing with sample stops; live search, real routing, and the verified dataset wire in across the build. You're seeing the goal and the frame — watch it fill in, mile by mile.
Plan the trip

Tell it where you're headed.

Pick your ends, your days, and what you're into. Get Your Kicks builds the drive — and shows you what's worth stopping for along the way.

The whole road

Not just neon.

Route 66 is the entire roadside — the kitsch, the grand, the delicious. Neon is one chapter, and it has its own home next door.

🍳

Diners & Cafés

Chrome counters, blue-plate specials, pie that's worth the detour.

🏨

Motor Courts

Wigwams, teepees, and tidy little cabins from the golden age of the road trip.

🗿

Roadside Giants

The Gemini Giant, the Blue Whale — muffler men and oversized everything.

🏜️

Natural Wonders

The Painted Desert, Meteor Crater, canyon country off the shoulder.

📷

Photo Ops

Shields painted on the asphalt, ghost-town gas stations, the end-of-road sign.

💡

Obsessed with the neon?

The signs deserve their own lens — every one, across a century, lit / restored / moved / gone.

Why now

The road turns 100.

Route 66 was commissioned in 1926. In 2026 the whole country is looking down the Mother Road again — and it deserves a planner that's alive, not a paper map. This is that, built in the open.
